L-Lysine must be taken the right way, or else it only works half way
Healing Herpes requires pure L-Lysine. Nothing fancier than that. Well-meaning companies try to beat the competition by adding other nutrients to it, hoping to attract more sales. This shows, in my view, that they don't understand the power of this amino acid in its pure form, nor do they know what it is capable of. It's as if you had an airplane and removed its wings because they slow you down when you take it on the road. Not a likely scenario, but a good metaphor.
The problem with a "supplemented" L-Lysine, is that one cannot take as much as is needed at one time, in order to arrest the progression of Herpes rashes and/or lesions, because added nutrients would also be ingested in higher than normal amounts and some of them could be harmful, when taken in excess. Granted that most nutrients are rather forgiving, we just don't want to take chances.
Buying only pure L-Lysine is a must and this is true only for all other isolated nutrients. It doesn't apply to the inert substances that are added to tablets and capsules to prevent caking or molding, for instance. You will find some of these substances in almost all products sold in a pill form and they don't represent a problem, in terms of the Protocol®. You will be able to tell them apart because they are always listed separately from the Ingredients List or at the very end of it. If you are not sure, ask the store Manager, or someone else, but please don't rely on shelf stocking sales clerks in health food stores for anything other than questions related to prices or for help with locating an item.
You have no idea how many times I have heard my clients say to me: "...but the guy at the health food store told me it was the right thing to take for (this or that condition)...". Strange, isn't it? Would you expect the person behind the cash register in a pharmacy to know what to do about your health problem? Obviously not. And yet, most people assume that anyone who works in a health food store is an authority in herbal remedies, homeopathics and nutritional supplementation.
Forgive the diversion, I couldn't resist.
You can purchase pure L-Lysine
here
or, if you choose to buy it somewhere else, please read the ingredients list, before you bring that bottle home. As a first dose, take between 3000 and 8000 milligrams of L-Lysine, only pure L-Lysine, nothing else.
My goodness, you'll say, that's a lot of L-lysine! And a wide dosage range at that. Is it safe? Besides, how do I know who should take 3000 mg. and who should take 8000 mg.? Let me explain a few things.
I have recently stumbled upon a Herpes Forum where people are having a debate about this websites and, while newcomers inquire as to the validity of my Protocol, some rather ignorant and/or malicious self-appointed experts are sewing inaccurate, misleading and fear-inducing information about L-lysine. Why are they doing this? I don't know. Maybe they have some hidden agenda.
I assure you I would not be wasting my time and money writing and up-keeping this site just so I can lose my reputation, let alone cause anyone any harm. On the contrary, my intention is to help people, by sharing something which, over the years, has never hurt anyone but rather has brought relief to those who needed it.
In any case, if you feel uncertain and/or confused by some negative comment you've heard or read, rest assured that you can still benefit from my Protocol.
Here is how: you don't have to start with the highest recommended dose of 8000 milligrams, three times a day, if it scares you to do so. You can start from the lowest recommended dose, of 3000 milligrams, or something in between, say 5000 milligrams, taken three times a day, if you feel better about it. The Protocol is so effective that it most likely will work anyway, albeit a bit more slowly.
But please just remember this: the 8000 milligrams dose, repeated three times a day for the first couple of days, is most effective and has been well tolerated, so far, by everyone who has tried it. It knocks the virus out of commission and makes healing Herpes rashes, sores and lesions smooth sailing.
And also YOU ONLY HAVE TO TAKE THE INITIAL HIGH DOSE FOR A FEW DAYS, or until you notice that the blister/s has/have stopped progressing. You wouldn't stay on this dose for more than a few days, and this course of action, to this day, I repeat, has been 100% safe and effective for everyone who has been on the Protocol® (of course, had these characters read my website, before wasting everyone's time with their useless comments, they might have spared themselves the embarrassment of showing everyone how ignorant they really are, aside from being so incomprehensibly hostile).
By the way, the 100% success rate applies to Bell's Palsy as well, as long as it is caught early on, hopefully within the first couple of days from the onset of the paralysis.
Since most L-Lysine capsules on the market are 500 milligrams each, however, you may not be able to swallow 6 to 16 big capsules all at once without gagging or drinking too much water in the process.
Not everyone can deal with that much swallowing, nor should you force yourself, if it feels like it's too much, since your gag reflex could get sloppy and you might end up sending a capsule down the wrong pipe. Don't mess with your gag reflex: it is the only thing that protects you from choking and, while Healing Herpes is desirable, choking is irreparable.
You get my point, I'm sure. True, most adults would rather stomach 16 capsules of L-Lysine in one dose, than boast a cold sore on their lip for 3 weeks. However, if you don't think you can handle it, opt for the powder form and use the measuring scoop (and good luck with the taste of it) or, take 3000 or 4000 milligrams at a time, instead of 8000. What is the solution in case you have to limit yourself? Just take it more often (-:
Healing herpes lesions as swiftly as possible being the goal, one should aim for 15,000 to 25,000 milligrams of L-Lysine per day, on the first, second and sometimes third day on the Acute Version of the Herpes Protocol®.
This much L-Lysine is necessary in order to halt the progression of symptoms, but different people have different physical needs and structures and one has to use common sense in determining how much one can take, without going overboard, relatively to one's size, age, weight, health, etc. etc.
Anyway, in my experience, capsules are preferable to tablets, because they don't irritate the stomach lining nearly as much, and powder is best. However, don't let this stop you from starting on The Herpes Protocol®, if all you can find are tablets.
Tablets have the advantage of being easier to find (you can buy them in almost any pharmacy at this point, anywhere in the US) and also, they come in 1000 mg. tablet size, which can be a blessing initially, when one has to take high amounts of the stuff. I mean, who wants to swallow 16 Titanic looking capsules, right? And yet, that is what one has to do, initially, if one has opted to go for the 500 mg. size capsules.
If the idea of swallowing that many pills scares you, you are not alone. This is the reason why I have set up a link to a page that includes a powder version of L-lysine. The powder is a great option, in terms of taking high doses without irritating the stomach, but you will have a different challenge to cope with, and that is, the taste of L-Lysine.
This is no joke. To this day, I have not found anything that can make it go away, but again, healing Herpes rashes and cold sores is probably an imperative for you, if you have made it this far on the page, so, don't let an odd taste derail your good will.
After all, you'll only taste for a moment...
My suggestion? Keep it simple. Buy whatever makes sense to you, take your supplements and have a cup of green tea standing by, or even just warm water, to help your stomach negotiate the dose, and you should be fine.
Take this initial dose, 4000 to 8000 mg., and repeat as many times a day as needed to get to the 20,000 mg. a day range, give or take 5000 mg. - don’t worry! you won’t overdose! The only side effect may be a bit of queasiness, since you will take it on an empty stomach - but you can, and should, eat a good size, balanced snack or meal, within 5 to 10 minutes of having taken it.
Trust me, follow the L-Lysine with a cup of tea. Although you'll need water or juice to swallow it - if you follow it with a warm beverage, you will minimize the possibility of queasiness.
And also, REMEMBER: YOU WILL NOT BE TAKING THIS AMOUNT OF L-Lysine FOR VERY LONG! JUST UNTIL THE SYMPTOMS BEGIN TO DIMINISH, usually 2 to 3 days. After that, things will normalize and you'll go down to about half of that amount.
Know what? Healing herpes lesions will seem so easy that you will wonder how come more people don't know about the Herpes Protocol®. And my guess is that it's because of its simplicity. People assume that difficult problems must have difficult to find solutions, and often overlook the simplest answers, which are often right in front of them.
Even though, usually, a few days on the high dose are all that is needed to halt symptoms and reverse progression, you can stay on it for as long as you need to. If you have had a severe rash for a long time, it might take a little longer to accomplish this initial goal, and that's OK.
Make sure to always eat a balanced snack after taking the L-Lysine. Which means something with protein, carbs and fat. BALANCED is the word! So, yogurt with fruit...perfect! A peanut butter and fruit spread sandwich on spelt bread? Fancy! Good old PB&J on Wonder® bread? Fine. Whatever. But do eat. Or else you'll blame me for the uncomfortable feeling in your stomach, and that would not be fair.
When do you begin cutting down on L-Lysine? You will know, when it's time to come down from the high dose. How? You'll feel it. You will realize that your rash, lesion or sore has stopped growing and maybe even started to heal. Don't stop the Protocol®! This is where you need to be patient and persistent. Just lower your intake of L-Lysine, gradually, until you get to a 10,000 mg. daily dose, divided in 3 or 4 individual doses of about 2500 to 3000 mg. each. Stay on this dose until all symptoms have subsided.
At which point, you'll switch to the Maintenance Version.
PS - If you are wondering why I don't stick to a definite dose and tend to give ballpark amounts, it's because, when taking this much L-Lysine, it doesn't really make that much difference if one day you take 1000 mg. more or less. As long as you are in the general vicinity of the right amount, all is well. However, don't take it too far. If you drop down from 10,000 to 1000 mg., that would certainly make a difference!
