WHAT IS HERPES,
AND WHAT
DOES IT WANT FROM ME?Herpes is
a virus, belonging to the Herpesviridae,
which is actually the Latin name of a family of viruses. Since that is a rather long name, not to mention unpronunceable by
most English speaking folks, I will refer to this group on these pages
as the H. family. Like all families, this one includes several
members, in this case called "strands", each with its own name,
similar, but not identical to one another, and capable of causing
similar but not identical symptoms in the human Host they inhabit. Furthermore,
just like we go by a first and last name, so
do the members of the H. family: there is H. Simplex, responsible for
cold sores; H. Zoster, responsible for genital lesions; and Varicella Zoster, specializing in Chicken Pox, just to name
those with whom most people are familiar. Not everyone knows that Shingles is also caused by a member of the H. Family and
that Small Pox is a distant cousin as well. Then
there are different names of the various unpleasant things
that can happen to a chap as a result of hosting one of the H. bunch:
have you heard of Bell's Palsy? How about Saint Anthony's Fire? .
And then there is a serious kind of tissue necrosis called
Vaccinia (caused by the Small Pox vaccine), which I hope none of us
will ever encounter, let alone experience. In
my
opinion, however, the H. group is also responsible for some underground
activity not yet recognized, by orthodox medicine, in connection with
viral infections. I will explain how I have arrived at such conclusions
in a different part of this site. For now, however, I want to bring up
this idea and introduce it, in my readers' mind, if just as a
possibility.Herpes,
I suspect, affects nerve fibers in the substrata of our connective
tissue, and this gives rise to common, if painful, symptoms we do not
blame on this virus. Things like migraine headaches, for
instance, some forms of neuralgia (nerve pain), including those
that
affect the sciatic or the trigeminal nerve, as well as a host of
undefined neurological and often, consequently, psychological
conditions, I believe, are related to H. activity. Remember
"The Godfather"? People tend to assume the Corleone Family is as bad a
bunch as they get, for obvious reasons, even though many are fascinated
with this group's ruthlessness and the way it co-exists with a tight
code of honor. Would you
say, after reading the above, that the Herpes Family is just as bad, if
not worse, than the Corleones? Right, and who could disagree with you?
Hardly anyone.
However,
let me ask that you to hold off on your guilty verdict, when it
comes
to Herpes family, until you hear all witnesses. You know how, in a
really good legal thriller, the most revealing deposition may not come
until you've exhausted all suppositions and objections?
I
realize how odd it may sound, at this point, to question our usual
assumptions about viral insidiousness, especially when it comes to this
viral group, but I have my good reasons for asking you to postpone a
final decision, until you read other pages on this site.
More on that later.
Now
you are really curious, aren't you? Great! Please keep reading.
The plot thickens, as they say.
WHAT
CAN I DO ABOUT HERPES?
Folks
have tried everything: antiviral drugs, vibrational medicine, soothing
essential oils, Native American herbal remedies, nutritional
supplements, the Macrobiotic diet, hypnosis, wheat grass implants and plasters, juice fasting,
meditation, affirmations, drinking one's own urine, praying, Neuro Linguistic Programming®, prayer, exorcism, etc.,
etc... The list could go on for a
while,
because many products and solutions have been marketed over the years,
natural, pharmaceutical or otherwise, and, while some of these have
been described as "helpful" by some Herpes sufferers, the bottom line
is that not one of them works as well as one would hope. The
pharmaceuticals may be more effective, as far as treating symptoms goes, than their
natural counterpart, but it is no secret that antiviral drugs are not well tolerated by a
large number of patients, primarily because of how they affect the
patient's liver function and immune response. Here is a link
to Valtrex
one of the most widely prescribed Herpes medications. Scroll to the
bottom of the page, make sure to read the "Important Information" and then, if you
want more, click on the link in that paragraph to download the entire
PDF page. You will then have a printable pamphlet on this drug, complete with warnings, precautions, side
effects and contraindications. I
don't mean to sound negative, but even for those
who are in
good health, antiviral drugs' side effects are no picnic. If you
want to find out more, you can check the next highlighted link, an
on-line PDR page, and that will help you decide for yourself: PDR on Valtrex. Even
though one of the most frequent medical
searches on the net reads: "natural cure for herpes" or alternatively
"natural cure
for cold sore", I do not use the word "cure" in relation to my
Protocol®. Everyone is looking for a safe "cure", one that doesn't
create more problems than
what it promises to heal, but truthfully, viruses cannot be cured.
Not in the usual meaning of the word, since they are but genetic
sequences and therefore, once they become activated in our cells, they
become a part of our genetic structure. A
virus is not alive. It doesn't have enough structural components, so to
speak, to qualify as a living organism. It cannot reproduce. Nor can it move around. Breathe. Eat. Excrete waste. Choose
one thing over another. Exist, in other words. Not without you. Or me.
Or some other living organism called a Host, a.k.a. a living organism who is not only capable of
performing all of the functions listed above, but usually eager to do
so. A Host, in fact, goes about its existence trying its darnest best to make
itself as comfortable and durable as possible, and this is what the virus needs, in order to exist and reproduce itself. What we need are effective, non toxic
remedies. A
simple, natural way of healing cold sores, not to mention reversing,
preventing and eliminating escalation of symptoms, and recurrence of
outbreaks, of this viral condition, in all of its forms. As
you can see below, it is not only embarrassing! IT HURTS!
HERPES,
LIKE ALL VIRUSES, IS INCURABLE. Period. A virus is a strange
thing. I call
it an "in-between" sort of chap. In the sense that, although viruses
contain viable, readable genetic sequences, like living things do,
these bits of genetic material are stored inside a geometrically
sophisticated capsule that looks more like a crystal, or a mineral,
than a living body. In
another page on this site, you will actually find a link to go and see
pictures of these guys, caught on film through the use of
micro-photography. They are very pretty, believe it or not! To Be Continued
