Herpes Pictures, Opinions And Facts: An Educational Gallery
*************************************** IMPORTANT!Please read ALL the text on this page, before moving on to the pictures.
Herpes Pictures, Facts and Opinions, or HPO&F, is primarily an educational tool, a collection of words and images designed to increase general awareness of
Herperviridae,
the Herpes family, to help people understand how these organisms have affected humans in the past and they can affect us in the future.Herpes Pictures, Opinions and Facts is organized in a way that is simple, factual, comprehensive and with room to grow. At the onset, it includes close-up photos of virulent skin rashes and lesions, obviously different from one another, both in terms of where they appear on the body and their degree of severity. This is done in an attempt to educate my visitors, and here is why. When I was doing the initial research for this site, I had to prioritize the information I was going to select for publication and I made sure to start from what seemed most needed, requested and necessary. Upon evaluation of thousands of Internet searches most recently performed in relation to Herpes, Cold Sores, Shingles, etc., I realized that one of the most frequent searches was for images, photos of what it looks like. Obviously, not everyone feels comfortable showing up at a local VD clinic, or at the family doctor's office, with a genital lesion, especially a young person and especially if he or she happens to live in a small town, where everyone knows everyone else. A lot of folks would prefer to self-diagnose, if possible, and would go to great lengths to obtain the needed remedies in the most discreet or even anonymous, way. I mean, who wants to get a box of Valtrex® delivered to a home address, for the mail man and maybe even the neighbors to see? Granted that Valtrex® wouldn't be sent in the mail like that, but you get my point...Discretion is very important and secrecy desirable, when it comes to this kind of health challenge. Herpes is considered an STD (sexually transmitted disease), even though it can flare up in people who didn't contract it through direct sexual contact. Furthermore, even though Cold Sores and the painful rash called Shingles, which are the most immediately visible forms of Herpes outbreak, do not usually develop as a result of sexual activity with an infected person, but most people believe that they do. One more misconception I found, over and over again, is the confusion between the lesions that appear inside the mouth, in cases of oral thrush, a rash caused by the yeast organism called Candida Albicans, and the Cold Sores that are caused by Herpes Simplex, and appear on the outside of the mouth, usually along the edge of a lip. Those are just two examples, but they give you an idea of how confusing things can get for people. So, without engaging in serious diagnostics, my goal for the Herpes Pictures, Opinions and Facts gallery is to help visitors learn how to recognize the most basic tell tale signs of common infections and distinguish one from the others, in order to look for, and find, appropriate help and resources, as needed.

Cold Sores, Fever Blisters, Facial Herpes, Genital Herpes, Shingles, Varicella, Saint Anthony's Fire, Chicken Pox, Small Pox, Bell's Palsy, Neuralgia, Neuropathy, Sciatica Nerve Pain, Migraine Headaches, Trigeminal Nerve Pain.......what do these conditions have in common?
**************************************
They are, or can be, all associated with a kind of micro-organisms that we are going to call, for ease of presentation, the
Herpes Family (Herpesviridae)
of viruses, not because we want to feel warm and fuzzy about these things, but rather to convey the concept of viral adaptability, plasticity and mutation. "Herpes Pictures And Facts" includes photos, selected from different sources in the public domain, that clearly show the many different ways in which viruses of the Herpes Family have been, and still are, affecting humans, in order to help us, as much as possible, connect the dots throughout the evolution, breadth and scope of this epidemic. Given the almost endless variety of pathological manifestations related to the Herpes Family of viruses, I believe "Herpes Pictures And Facts" can help all of us come to terms with a reality we may not have been aware of. If "Herpes Pictures And Facts" is to succeed in achieving the goal for which it has been created, it must orchestrate a compelling experience and inspire everyone who visits to share this site with as many people as possible. In order to achieve that goal, it is necessary to keep building and refining "Herpes Pictures And Facts", both as an educational resource as well as a visual data base, to the point where it will be considered one of the main resources on the web for all those who have been affected by Herpes. I hope that, with patience and a bit of luck, it will not take long before the Herpes Protocol will be available to everyone and easily reach those who need it the most.
HERPES FACT:
All Viruses of the HERPES FAMILY infect nerves and can replicate only within cellular structures and tissues that belong to the nervous system.

Let me make one thing clear: whenever you'll see this text color, please remember that you are reading my personal views, the conclusions I have drawn through my own learning process, the knowledge I have acquired as a result of my clinical experience of more than 20 years in practice as a Psycho-biologist, Health Educator, Whole Foods Chef Instructor and Nutrition Consultant.
************************************
The process I am referring to has been my teacher and I speak with the confidence of an eye witness, because everything I am presenting here, far from being my theory, constitutes the inevitable realizations I was faced with as I watched, paid attention to, studied, researched and did my best to find relief for the vast array of pathological conditions my fellow humans brought to my door and asked for my help with. Some of these conclusions, as you will soon discover if you continue to read, match the orthodox perspective, some not entirely, some don't match at all and yet some are so antithetical to what you've been told, that you will probably wonder whether I'm joking. The truth is, of course, that no, I wouldn't joke about anything capable of causing this much suffering, nor would I waste my time, money and intellectual resources filling this internet page with nonsense, no matter how entertaining. In light of the above, and regardless of how unusual my take on Herpes is going to sound, I ask that you evaluate what I am offering based on whether or not it serves your best interest, and not based on its adherence to commonly accepted frames of reference held by main stream medical views.
Herpes Pictures, Opinions And Facts: COLD SORES
This kind of Herpes infection is known by several different names. Here I list the most common definitions:Photo in the public domain, courtesy of CDC, Dr. Herrmann - 1964 - HERPES PICTURES: Cold sore, 2nd day Cold Sore A Fever Fever Blister Herpes 1 Labial Herpes lesion Facial Herpes Buccal Herpes A Cold Sore begins with a tingling, slightly burning sensation, or, alternatively, mild itching, a sense of increasing skin tension, or a very cold, icy sensation, or all of the above, on the spot where the blister is about to form. This initial phase doesn't produce visible manifestations and it lasts, usually, but a few hours, after which a "blister" begins to form, looking like a small bubble filled with fluids, right under the skin, most often along the edge of a lip. NOTICE: the spot where the blister forms is at, or close to, the end of a nerve, which is a nervous system pathway.

Here we have a picture of the same thing, except far more advanced and more serious, because occurring in an immuno-suppressed patient. Lesions begin with a blister, then, after the blister breaks, the lesion spreads out and becomes crusty, oozy and raw. In a healthier individual, the whole process, from initial tingling sensation to
a completely healed lip, takes around 3 weeks
