Reduced Glutathione And Other Nutritional Supplements
Aside from my recommendations as they pertain to the supplements in my Herpes Protocol®, reduced glutathione is one of the few supplements I recommend taking on a regular basis, because of its superior anti-oxidant properties and its efficacy in boosting detoxification. I have been recommending it, in a pure, powder form, for people dealing with any kind of serious physical challenge, with great results I might add. But I do not hesitate to recommend it even for people who are generally in good health. Why? Because, with all the stress and pollution we are dealing with, we all can benefit from its protective and rejuvenating effects.
Confusing Data About Reduced Glutathione's Efficacy
I have decided to write this page because I have heard, and read, a lot of confusing and often misguided information about reduced glutathione, and I believe it is important for me to share what I have learned from my experience as a Nutritionist, and especially explain why I recommend it as a part of my Herpes Protocol®.
To Supplement Or Not To Supplement:That Is The Question ...At Hand...
Before I go any further, I want to make it clear that I am not in favor of taking loads of supplements randomly, just because someone says we should. I admit that I started out believing differently, but I have changed my mind over the years, mostly as a result of my own observations. What I have observed is that, contrary to what a lot of clever marketing programs want us to believe, the body is not designed to utilize nutrients properly, unless they come from food and in the form of food. In other words, there is a big difference between taking individual, isolated vitamins and minerals in a powder form, all compressed into a tablet, packed with useless, inert additives, such as colorants, anti-caking, anti-molding agents and other preservatives, devoid of water, fiber, oxygen and life; and eating a wholesome diet, inclusive of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as all the other food groups, where the nutrients come through in a more natural configuration. I have come to realize, again, through clinical observation, that our bodies are mostly unable to absorb artificially delivered nutrients and in fact, can become burdened with extra-waste, in the form of unabsorbed, circulating nutrients that have made it across our intestinal walls but cannot be utilized or integrated in our tissues because our body doesn't recognize them. This situation presents a serious problem, not only for our immune system, who is responsible for disposing of waste effectively and expediently, but for our stomach and digestive system as well, since supplements are usually ingested orally and must be dealt with, at least initially, by the organs of digestion. I have found, for instance, that the inner lining of people's stomachs, can get very irritated when constantly forced to accept handfuls of nutrients in a tablet or capsule form, and this can sometimes cause over or under production of gastric juices, with potentially serious consequences for the stomach itself as well as for the rest of the body. For these reasons, among others, I usually discourage people from taking regular supplements, with a few exceptions in the form of a liquid B complex and/or a food based, liquid multivitamin. If needed, I might also add digestive herbs and/or enzymes to the list of acceptable, regular supplementation, but that's about it.
What is different about Reduced Glutathione?
Reduced Glutathione is different, yes, but only if taken in a pure, powder form, and only if it is super-fresh.One of the most common objections I get at this point is that, according to some studies, it is not absorbed effectively through the digestive tract and taking it orally doesn't therefore guarantee enough beneficial results to justify its high cost. I am sure these studies are legitimate, but I would like to find out what kind of glutathione they are utilizing for their tests. I cannot understand how and why they arrive at these negative conclusions, since my experience with it has been strikingly and entirely opposite. The only conclusion I have been able to draw is that they are not working with the same reduced glutathione I have been utilizing in my work since the reduced glutathione I am speaking of, the same one I recommend in my Herpes Protocol®, has consistently been one of the most effective tools in my Nutritionist box. I am aware of the fact that, when people take commercially packaged reduced glutathione, available in vitamin stores in the form of capsules, they may be taking a product that has lost its freshness (potency) and to which useless, inert additives may have been added. But that is NOT the reduced glutathione I have been utilizing and/or recommending to my clients, students and listeners.
Availability Of Pure, Reduced Glutathione In A Powder Form
I have not been able to purchase pure, fresh and potent reduced glutathione in a powder form anywhere, except from a pharmaceutical wholesaler. This is, however, the ONLY form I recommend taking, because, in my experience, any other form of it, sold at retail, is not potent enough and therefore not worth its high price.I may not be able to tell you why this is the case, but I feel rather certain it is true, based on what I have observed in my work. The problem with this situation is that, for most people, buying it from a wholesale distributor is impossible, since one has to purchase very large quantities at one time and, without a large enough distribution channel, run the risk that it might get stale. When it became clear that adding the purest reduced glutathione to my Herpes Protocol® increased the Protocol's efficacy, I decided that the best way to make it available, and affordable, to people who wanted to follow my recommendations, was for me to buy it directly from a manufacturer so my customers could purchase it close to wholesale price. For your convenience you can now order a bottle of pure, fresh, potent, reduced glutathione (approximately one month's supply when taken as directed on the label), for only $ 70 plus shipping and handling.
